Calling all RPG enthusiasts! We are on the lookout for skilled Game Masters who specialize in running games such as D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowdark, DCC, Knave, and DC20.

Of course, we are eager to welcome players who are keen to join in the fun as well!

Whether you're a seasoned veteran or new to the world of RPGs, we want to hear from you. Let's make Nirvana another great destination for all role-playing aficionados!

Every Monday

Come join the Chess Club of Independence every Monday evening at Nirvana for a night of strategy, skill, and friendly competition. From 6 PM to 10 PM, players of all levels are welcome to take part in weekly meetups filled with engaging matches and good company. Whether you're a seasoned player or just learning the ropes, Chess Night at Nirvana is the perfect way to kick off your week with some classic board game action. Bring your thinking cap and join the fun!

Every Tuesday

Join us for some nerdy fiber art every Tuesday! We've got an awesome group of folks who come and swap patterns, tales, and simply hang out and enjoy making some magic with like minded people! This is a bring your own supplies type event. If there is something you are knitting, crocheting or sewing, bring it along and socialize with fellow fiber artists every Tuesday at Nirvana. This weekly event has no-cover, but we encourage you to make a purchase from Nirvana Coffee and Games while you are visiting to help keep our business running!

📝2026 Affirmation Exchange - Write an affirmation for 2026 on a card and drop it in a bowl, later go collect one from the bowl to keep for the year!

🐦‍⬛Crow Party: Trinket Exchange - Bring your trinkets to exchange with others. Marbles, bottle caps, bells, tiny things, cute findings and other small items.

🌝Slip into your cutest animal onesies, matching pajama sets, cottage-cute house clothes, or that ridiculously luxurious robe you never get to wear — tonight is about comfort, laughter, and creativity.

Get ready to put your knowledge to the test at our Trivia Night hosted by Crit & Ale happening in the Game Lounge starting at 6:30 PM with an all new host, Mikah! Trivia enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to join in on the fun! Team Details: Team Size: 2 to 5 players Entry Fee: Absolutely free! Prizes: Exciting prizes will be awarded to the top teams of the evening. Show off your trivia prowess and take home some fantastic rewards!

The mic opens at 8 PM and runs till midnight. No judgment, no pressure—just a good time with good people. Come solo, bring friends, sing once or sing all night.

Embark on an exhilarating journey with Skyhop, an episodic campaign set in the tropical island nation of Atlantica, hosted by the Central Adventuring Guild. This unique Pathfinder 1st Edition campaign uses the Spheres of Power system for spellcasting, replacing traditional spell slots, and offers a shared progression system for all players across multiple Game Masters (GMs). 

  Campaign Overview The Central Adventuring Guild in Atlantica connects adventurers to thrilling missions across distant islands and continents. Travel to these far-off lands is made possible through the Skyhopping Amulet, a magical artifact granted to each party upon accepting a mission. This amulet harnesses powerful magic to launch your party into the sky, landing them safely and swiftly at the Guild Branch of your chosen destination. Missions for the Guild help establish vital connections in these foreign lands. However, local laws prohibit bringing foreign magical items into other territories. Your character will rely on core equipment for each adventure, with access to a unique pool of magical treasures specific to each land, earned through prior adventures.

  Campaign Features 

Episodic Structure: Each session is a self-contained adventure, allowing flexibility to join any session without commitment to every game. Progression is universal, ensuring your character remains compatible across all Skyhop tables. 

  Shared Progression: All Skyhoppers follow a standardized level progression, creating a cohesive campaign experience regardless of the GM or session. 

  GM Creative Freedom: Any GM can run a Skyhop mission, crafting unique adventures in lands of their own design. To maintain creative control, GMs are encouraged to avoid referencing other lands unless they created them.

Join us for a lovely afternoon of jazz with J&O Combo on every Second Sunday at 11AM to 1PM. The J & O Combo are a sax and bass jazz duo in the KC area. Both having recently graduated from Wichita State, they have made their new home in the Kansas City metro and specialize in jazz standards and originals. Have brunch with us! We have a wide selection of food options available or grab a coffee from our summer menu and stay for a while to listen to some pleasant tunes!
